With a land area of 1.5 square miles Waller, Texas is not exactly a large community. However, the population grew significantly throughout the ‘90s as more and more individuals realized what a great place it was to live. Also, Waller, Texas, is close to many other towns including the immense Houston as well as The Woodlands. Houston is only about 42 miles away and The Woodlands is closer at 30 miles away. Waller, Texas History
The Waller community is named after Edwin Waller. It was established in 1884 and within the first month of its existence there was a post office in operation. Not too much time passed and the first general store was opened. Then, in 1887 the first public school was established. Within eight years a bank and newspaper were created and by 1898 the South Texas Bible College was founded.

Waller Real Estate
Waller real estate has not increased significantly in price or in the amount of new home construction building permits being issued despite the increase in population. In fact, over the past decade less than 25 new home permits have been issued.

Waller Education
The education in Waller is made up of a high school and several middle and elementary schools. The high school is Waller High School and the biggest middle school is Waller Junior High School and IT Holleman Elementary is the largest elementary school. The Waller Independent School District is recognized as providing an exceptional technological education.
